The Role of Bees in the Ecosystem
Bees are considered one of the most important organisms in the ecosystem. It’s no coincidence that Einstein is credited with saying, “If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.”
Their primary role is pollination. Thousands of plants, including many of our basic foods (like almonds, apples, cucumbers, zucchini), depend on bees for reproduction. Without them, fruit production would drop dramatically.
Additionally, bees contribute to biodiversity and ecosystem balance. Protecting them means protecting our own future.
