Sustainability & Environment
Our commitment to a chemical-free future
At Save Vytina Bees, sustainability is not a slogan or a trend. It is the very philosophy passed down to us by our grandfather and father, and the only path that guarantees our hives will continue to thrive for generations to come. From the very first day of the third generation, we made harmonious coexistence with the environment our absolute priority, proving that production and nature protection can go hand in hand.
For us, sustainable development means a world with less waste, no chemicals, and absolute respect for the natural cycle of life. This commitment is reflected in every practice we follow, from daily bee care to the collection and packaging of our products.

Our practices
Applying sustainability principles to beekeeping requires knowledge, consistency, and respect. The key practices we follow are:
- Zero chemical use: We never use medication, antibiotics, or synthetic products in our hives. Bee health is ensured through natural means, such as boosting their immunity through proper nutrition and selecting genetically resilient populations.
- Natural nourishment: When nature falls short, we provide our hives with high-quality feed, avoiding added sugar and syrups that weaken their organisms. Winter feeding with sugar, a common practice in conventional beekeeping, has been shown to lead to smaller, weaker populations in spring – we systematically avoid it.
- Respect for the natural cycle: Our fundamental rule is simple: we only take what the bees leave behind. Honey is, first and foremost, their winter food. We only collect the surplus, always ensuring enough is left for them to get through the cold months without shortage.
- Environmentally friendly techniques: We use open-bottom boards in our hives, allowing for better ventilation and reduced humidity, preventing diseases. We carefully choose hive locations, at least 10 meters from trees and shrubs, and always ensure abundant clean water is nearby.
- Avoiding smoking on high-risk days: During drought or high fire risk periods, we completely avoid smoking the hives, protecting the forest and biodiversity.
Education and awareness
Environmental protection doesn’t stop at our apiary’s boundaries. We firmly believe that knowledge is the first and most important step toward change. That’s why we systematically invest in educating and raising awareness among people of all ages.
Through organized visits to our hives, educational workshops, and talks at schools and institutions, we share our knowledge and experience. Our goal is for everyone to understand how valuable bees are, how fragile nature’s balance is, and how important each person’s role is in protecting it.
We inform about the threats, propose solutions, and demonstrate that a different, more sustainable development model is achievable. Because we believe change starts with each one of us – and an informed society is a society ready to protect its future.
At Save Vytina Bees, caring for the environment is a daily practice, not a theory. And we invite you to become our companions on this journey.
