Experience the world of bees up close
At Save Vytina Bees, we believe that knowledge and experiential learning are the most powerful tools for protecting nature. That’s why we open the doors of our apiary to visitors of all ages, offering a unique opportunity to get to know the magical world of bees up close. Alternative tourism and education are, for us, a two-way street: our visitors leave full of knowledge and experiences, and we draw strength from their support and enthusiasm.
Vytina, with its rich natural environment, dense forests, and traditional architecture, is the ideal destination for those seeking an authentic connection with nature. Combining a visit to our hives with hiking, discovering local gastronomy, and staying in traditional guesthouses, we create a complete, unforgettable experience.
Visits to our hives
Put on a beekeeper’s suit and join us to explore the microcosm of the hive. Our tours are designed for young and old alike, offering an experiential experience combining knowledge with the magic of direct contact.
During the visit, you will have the opportunity to:
- Meet our hives up close, observing the hive structure and the organization of bee society.
- Learn about the role of the queen, workers, and drones, and how they cooperate for the colony’s survival.
- See how honey is collected, how the honey extractor works, and how the final product is packaged.
- Observe the bees in action, hear their buzzing, and feel the unique energy emanating from a living hive.
- Taste fresh honey straight from the comb, discovering the differences in varieties and aromas.
The tour is always conducted with absolute respect for the bees and visitor safety. Beekeeper suits are provided by us, and groups are kept small so the experience is personal and meaningful.
Educational workshops
For schools, associations, and organized groups, we offer specialized educational workshops, tailored to different age groups. Our goal is to impart knowledge about bees in an interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful way.
For preschool and school-age children:
- The little beekeeper: A first introduction to bees, through stories, games, and drawing. Children learn about life in the hive, dress up as beekeepers, and discover why bees are so important.
- The journey of honey: From the flower to the jar. Through interactive activities, children understand the honey production process and the importance of pollination.
For teenagers and adults:
- The art of beekeeping: An introductory seminar for those interested in beekeeping, either as a hobby or professionally. Topics covered include bee biology, equipment, hive management, and disease control.
- Making balms and cosmetics: Learn how to make your own balms, creams, and salves with pure beeswax, propolis, and natural oils. An activity combining knowledge with creativity.
- Honey tasting: Discover the wealth of honey flavors through an organized tasting. You’ll learn to recognize the characteristics of each variety: aroma, color, texture, and taste.
Workshops are held either at our apiary or at your location, by arrangement.
