Walnut spoon sweet is a traditional dessert that reaches new heights when you use fir honey instead of sugar. The honey’s unique flavor pairs wonderfully with walnuts.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg green walnuts (late May to early June)
- 1 kg fir honey
- 1 glass of water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3-4 cloves
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions: Clean the walnuts, score them, and soak in lime water for 24 hours. Rinse well and blanch 2-3 times. In a pot, combine honey, water, and spices; boil for 10 minutes. Add walnuts and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Add lemon juice just before finishing. Remove from heat and let cool. Pack in sterilized jars.
